This image is dedictated to Pnina! :-) Now you can see one of the things that I've tried to do with my no-longer-new 10-22mm lens.

Lake Lasalle is a man made lake on the second campus of the State University of New York at Buffalo, located in Amherst, NY. There is a small park on the edge of the lake. The park contains some Greek-style architecture. This image was taken at sunrise.

Is it too grainy for your taste? The colors were interesting that morning because it had been raining, cleared up for the sunrise, and after about an hour got completely overcast again and started raining later in the morning.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

very cool image Lou Ann! i love the light, the color, the perspective. i have one teeny nit-pik. there is a black speck on the water that could easily be removed. what a neat spot, and how cool that you were able to catch it in such wonderful light.

Thanks, ya'll! I wasn't sure how this would go over. Apparently I done good. ;-) LOL!! I am including a more traditional view (although lousy photo) of the same place, but from across the lake.

Gosh, the 'standard' photo reveals a lot of geometry in the background building! aaaah, I must go there;)

No kidding, Vi - if you ever want to go to this spot, I can take you there. My mom lives nearby and would love to meet you. And, Niagara Falls is another 45 minutes drive away. It would be a nice weekend trip ... um, the next time you'r IN WASHINGTON DC!! ;-)

Great use of the wide-angle! The columns have a real impact and those clouds are good too. I would personally straighten up the bottom left corner buildings.

So, Colin, here's where my PS skills start to fail me. I want to keep that column in the center of the composition completely straight. So how do I straighten the buildings on the lower left without distorting the columns? Do I use the "Edit/transform/distort" tool and change the anchor to the bottom right? I'll have to play with that and see what I can do....

Cool angle Lou Ann, the 10-22 is simlpy fantastic for dramatising things of this nature, and the sky is quite lovely too, leading the eye to the collumns (and vice versa). Well done.
