I like the color and the setting. I feel like the expression on her face contradicts her garments.

Excellent color and lighting. Great job of conveying the dignity and humanity of your subject.

The vertical lines, at a slight slant in the background; as well as the combination of colors, the red and the black (and the patch of blue on the right); and also the prosaic setting of a bus interior: these things really set the subject off in a good way here: her age, her noble profile, the white uniform, the gold cross. Even her glasses add a nice touch. This picture makes me want to head for the nearest cafe and watch people go by.

Im glad this image is well liked. It is one of my favourites. I have yet to reprint it though I will soon.

I have been asking myself lately. Who are these people? I photograph

people. I do not know them. Why do I do this? Why do you do the same?

I used to wander around the streets in different cities taking photos of people I saw like this. I love these studies of people, great personality portraits. There is so much light here too and very few colors. I think that adds to the strength of it.

I have been interested in these studies of late also. More like stills than anything else. Very calm image
