This is an "aerial" view of the Portman Bay mining detritus, full of heavy metals. The image was taken from the Ashes Mountain nearby.

Portman's name comes from tha latin name of Portus Magnus because it was,in roman times, the loading port of the mineral the romans extracted from the mines in heavy production. Pompeius Maximus fought Ceaser in these regions trying to preserve the riches for himself...

You put "aerial" in quotes? Were you not in an airplane to get this shot? It's neat ... at first glance, it looks like a cross section of a tree trunk with a cut or imperfection. It's rather abstract!

Well, Lou Ann, I put "aerial" in inverted comas because I was some 300 mts above but at a distance -in straight line- of merely 500 mts...

Quite aerial I'd say!

Muy bella, Alberto. Esta es una foto para disfrutar en copia grande y PN solo nos deja intuir lo que realmente vale. No se si tenias o no otras opciones de composicion, pero el resultado es muy bueno y las lineas distribuyen los espacios perfectamente.

Manuel claro que habia otras opciones de composicion pero IMHO creo esta es bestial.

Un abstracto absolutamente conseguido en cuanto a color y composicion, la carretera central un poco oblicua junto las ondas le confieren un movimiento bestial y equilibrado: mi mirada comienza en la esquina superior izquierda y gira en el sentido de las agujas del reloj como inmersa en una espiral para luego dejarme escapar por el camino se�alado: la luz de la esquina superior derecha ...
