alberto.conde 0 Posted September 4, 2006 This is an "aerial" view of the Portman Bay mining detritus, full of heavy metals. The image was taken from the Ashes Mountain nearby.Portman's name comes from tha latin name of Portus Magnus because it was,in roman times, the loading port of the mineral the romans extracted from the mines in heavy production. Pompeius Maximus fought Ceaser in these regions trying to preserve the riches for himself... Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 4, 2006 You put "aerial" in quotes? Were you not in an airplane to get this shot? It's neat ... at first glance, it looks like a cross section of a tree trunk with a cut or imperfection. It's rather abstract! Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Well, Lou Ann, I put "aerial" in inverted comas because I was some 300 mts above but at a distance -in straight line- of merely 500 mts... Quite aerial I'd say! Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted September 4, 2006 I like it, I do... very unusual... I would have played, with the paths, and their crossing... compositionally... Link to comment
Link to comment
manuelbayo1 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Muy bella, Alberto. Link to comment
