A departure from my often big and dramatic style of photography, I found this narrow icy enclosure fascinating and spent more than half hour inside making some strange images.

Curiosity lured me inside this icy cave (I can't resist cold places) very high in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness. I crawled down the freezing passageway, ankle deep in rushing glacial water. It was only 3-feet high at best and quite uncomfortable (luckily I'm short). On the surface it was a relatively warm and very bright sunny day. Far into this ice chamber it was quite cool and necessitated long exposures at 200 ISO with no filters. I found some small rapids and rendered this image. The blues are real and appear here as they did in on site. Thanks for looking.

Really different and interesting. Was that light all daylight? How wide that chamber was approximately? Thank you for sharing this with us! I am speechless... No ratings, a s l a

This was taken at just about high noon, though it was very dark inside. Some ambient light appears on the rock faces due to an opening in the cave 50+ feet behind me as well as two small cracks in the ceiling. The cave here is about 6-8 feet wide and just under 3 feet high.

Totally incredible sight! At first I thought it was some kind of freaky photoshop manipulation until I looked at your gallery....your photographs almost make me want to toss my camera away. each and Every one of them are absolutly beautiful.

This is an unusual photograph. The patterns, lighting, soft textures and blues & whites give me the sense that I'm peering into another world. Like so many of your photos - great work.

out of this world Mark. For some reason this shot reminds me of the scene in the first Alien movie where they find the alien breeding ground! Sureal and unique!

Wow, excellent shot Marc. This is one of my favorite shots that you have done, and certainly the most original IMO. Good on you to take the time to hunt this shot out. Too often I get lazy and can't be bothered to make 'that extra effort', this should be a lesson to us all to go the extra mile. Well done.

Weird and wonderful Marc. I often used ISO 200 on my 5D (before it was destroyed by seawater) without much difference in noise levels compared to 50 & 100. I was wondering whether you use the Canon RAW or PS to do the RAW processing. I notice quite a lot of difference in the final images when using them. It looks likes you process them first in Canon RAW. Congratulations on a really cool addition to your portfolio.

Amazing image, huge WOW factor!

The most impressive is the light and colors achieved in

such a low light situation.

Your digital photos are just as terrific as your film ones.

Astonishing, not only aesthetically supreme but surely original. As far as I am concerned this is probably the most excitingly original landscape shot I have seen and epitomises the levels you are able to achieve. I honestly believe you have pushed the boundaries and become the finest landscape photographer on the planet.

It's interesting how the background takes over. Probably the most powerful background I've ever seen in a photo. The light on the distant stones really adds depth to the photo. It would have been fun to bounce some flash around inside there!
