johncrosley 0 Posted September 2, 2006 This man, an American Indian, had ancestors whom approaching European colonists stole their ancestral lands. Was he feeling 'mixed emotions' as he viewed this garment with a stylized American flag? Your ratings and comments are invited and most welcome. jim kerr 0 Posted September 2, 2006 As far as I'm concerned these natural Americans still own this land, since when does stealing something or swildling someone out of something make it yours........Jim Link to comment
johncrosley 0 Posted September 2, 2006 I spoke with this man whom I photographed candidly. He's a 100% loyal American. Notice the caption is posed as a question; he bears little or no animosity at the ancestral theft. He's a surgical assistant and at various times traverses borders with medical teams, helping indigents in foreign lands (presumably south/central America) with their medical problems, apparently for free, as part of a surgical team -- an unsung paragon of virtue, I decided. The caption was food for thought, and he approved the photo and the reason I took it, but disassociated himself from disapproval of modern-day America . . . from a ethnic/racial/cultural standpoint, he has let anger at past occurrences go.
