This is my favourite Henri. Though the other shots in this series give a more extensive view of the inner yarden. I prefer this composition because through its high and small cropp its like an arch in itself. It heightens the characteristic shape of the pointed arch and that adds so much to the Gothic mood that the Romanesque architectural style of the cloister radiates. That doesn't alter the fact that I think that the other pictures of the series are less good or less beautiful.

The only point which distracts a bit is the blue haze around the top of the tree and a part of the pilar. I guess that it will be probably caused by the backlight. But despite that, this version is my number I!

Warm Regards, Ada:)

Thank you Ada. The blue haze is due, I think, to the sun light which was behind the pilow. My memories are not very accurate about this, but it is probably the reason.

In my turn to not be sure to understand what you say. In the phrase "That doesn't alter the fact that I think that the other pictures of the series are less good or less beautiful", do you mean that you find they are less good and less beautiful (you have the right to think that) or that you find they are as good and as beautiful (you have the right also) ?

Thank you Satvinder. I have another problem of understanding. I recently made me explain the meaning of "LOL" and one have say to me that it means "Laugh out loud". Do you mean that this photo make you laugh out loud or have I not well understanding the real meaning ?

:-)) Henri, I meant to say that the other two pictures in this series are just as beautiful as this picture (2).

Amities Sinceres, Ada.

Henri, I think I prefer the field of view of the 20mm (I am a wide angle fanatic) but I would have got closer to the pillars and lost the top of the arch in favour of a close up of the stone texture.

So of these two shots I like the 28mm version as it gets closer.

Thank you Colin. I had noticed that you were a fan of the wide angle, and permit me to say that you use it as a master. I think I prefer the 28 mm version too. Here I have gained the top of the arch but the whole composition has nothing better than the other.
