berryl 0 Posted September 1, 2006 You know what Susan, I think most people do not realize how hard it is to get a shot like this of a humming bird. I like to photograph them also. My guess is that this little fellow got curious of you and flew over to check you out. Am I right! Anyway, great shot. Berryl Link to comment
shirkwolfe 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Thank you, Berryl. Yes, you know how hard it is to get them in focus. They move so fast. But there were many of them hovering around the feeder waiting their turns and I, as you say, got lucky. My trigger finger is not that fast! Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted September 1, 2006 Susan sometimes it is better to be lucky than skilled. I would have applied a tad bit of software sharpening to this. Also some hue adjustment to squeeze out a bit more blue in the sky. But, I copied a large version of this to my computer and had limited success in applying both of those adjustments. You did good, girl!!! 6/6 Link to comment
NickB 0 Posted September 2, 2006 I agree - That is a hard shot to get...focus is perfect with just a hint of wing movement. Amazing. Link to comment
shwetabanerjee 0 Posted September 7, 2006 Its an absolutely WOW shot!!! To get a humming bird like this, with the wings so beautifully captured, you must have been amazingly lucky. Link to comment
andrzejp 7 Posted February 14, 2007 This is an amazing picture. Humming birds rarely stop to pose. Seems technically impossible. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 26, 2009 I love to sit at the end of the runways at the airport in Toronto and watch the planes come in. This image immediately reminded me of those experiences. Great timing and a super shot. Link to comment
