pnital 36 Posted August 27, 2006 Light, forms and colors and a pazzle, which door? and what is behind each of them ?.... Thanks for your impressions . Link to comment
seven 0 Posted August 28, 2006 This is enigmatic, Pnina. Again, strong negative space which I enjoy, the blue rectangles stand out beautifully from the "night"; the slow shutter lends the illusion of motion to the still.Wouldn't it be amazing if you could get all of these shots without the spectators and/ or lights at the bottom of the frame : they create a distance between the act and I in that they strip away any sense of intimacy I might have in relation to the act. But you have done your part, and a very fine part it is. Link to comment
dugstervision 0 Posted August 28, 2006 For me, it's a visual delight, not a 'question'. Interesting. Great color. Fun! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 28, 2006 John, Seven and Doug Seven, I upload another version with a "clesner" bottom. I wonder if that was your intention, if yes, I think you are right, anyway thanks for your observing eye. John and Doug, nice to meet you and thanks. Link to comment
distantvoice 0 Posted August 28, 2006 Pnina, this theatre show was a real gold mine for you. I love this abstract photograph. The figure of a man is distinguishable enough and the rectangles that for me look rather like mirrors (which still are the doors to the alternative or negative space) symbolize the question of choice. He builds the installation that will give him a choice in the future and he will probably choose the one that will reflect him in the way he sees himself. Nice metaphore of life, isn't it? (I would get rid of that red dots under his foot but that is a minor distraction.) Link to comment
blackdogstudio 1 Posted August 28, 2006 Another stunning capture Pnina! You had a photographer's field day at that show!!! Nicely done. Regards, Kelvin. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 28, 2006 Michal, thanks for your always well written comment, I appreciate the ability of written expression. You don't belive it, but the small red dot behind the man IMO is importent for the ballance of composition ;-)) Yes I saw it as the choices we do in our life. Kelvin, you too, always so good in your work and generous in your wording. Thank you. Pnina Link to comment

seven 0 Posted August 28, 2006 In answer to your question, Pnina : yes, you can crop it out - but I was thinking how perfect it would be if they were to put a show on just for your lens, no "clothing" between the sensor and the play - that would be sugg鲥z tr賮 Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 28, 2006 Shuki, thanks , Glad to hear from you. Spencer, I will try to explain to you why I called it "which door?" it is a metaphor for choices we have to take in our life and some time it is a question mark ( ? )which way or which door to enter , I hope it helps my friend, thanks and Shalom Seven Thanks , you are so right, that would have been a dream! but reality was this ;-)) and I worked hard to avoid that reality. cherlyn 1 Posted August 28, 2006 I like this best in your series. The abstract forms of man & doors are superb here. And I do agree that the doors look line mirror, a reflecting symbol for man, Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted August 29, 2006 Cherlyn, Hans, Armindo and Jim, thank for liking that theatre image. Jim, It is the scene lights on the stage, I have only aimed and photographed the source of lights on it, working in nearly complete darkness with ISO 1600. Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted August 29, 2006 Very neon! and the metaphor for choices is clear. I can see him thinking. Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 29, 2006 Now this is really good, life as a neon cartoon. There's certainly method in the madness, just what is anybody's guess. But that's what makes the picture so interesting, the gap between what we know and the that crucial bit of knowledge that can only be reached through the bridge of the imagination. Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted August 30, 2006 What fun Pnina. I have very much enjoyed these theater shots with their glowing abstracted forms. These feel playful and alive. Beautifully done... Link to comment
