I like the DoF very much in this photo. For me it gives a sense of depth giving vertical dimension to the flower. As a result the central part seems to pop out from the screen....a very nice abstract of this flower....well done.

Good shot of a difficult subject, detail and DOF are excellent. IMO, some work with PS to achieve a uniform background would make this picuture even better.
