Abbey Saint-Martin du Canigou (1)

This is an abbey in the Massif du Canigou (Pyrenees orientales),

easy to see after a little walk of about one hour (add ten minutes

to climb above it and get this view point). Thank you to rate and

Here I dont go with the crowd and prefer the wider FOV over the tight shots. Usually tighter / larger is better but I like how you include the surroundings, the far mountains, great depth. This crop sets the abbey "in perspective" with the country, the tighter crops are more about the abbey itself

Thank you Carsten. It is always interesting to know the opinion of the minority. Now I must admit that I agree with the majority, I prefer also the other framing. Not only in this case but often, in particular in summer, when the sky is not very interesting.

I think seeing the distant hill adds to the image. Very nice. Cheers!

J'avais d骠 aper絠celle-ci sans prendre la peine de m'arr괥r, mais elle m'impressionne, ainsi que l'autre vue de l'abbaye. Tr賠beau travail !

I like both of these shots but I was interested to which of them gave me a feeling of 'being there'. I think it is this one as the other version though a fine shot seems to give less sense of depth beyond (behind) the monastery.
