henrimanguy 0 Posted August 26, 2006 This is an abbey in the Massif du Canigou (Pyrenees orientales), easy to see after a little walk of about one hour (add ten minutes to climb above it and get this view point). Thank you to rate and comment. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Here I dont go with the crowd and prefer the wider FOV over the tight shots. Usually tighter / larger is better but I like how you include the surroundings, the far mountains, great depth. This crop sets the abbey "in perspective" with the country, the tighter crops are more about the abbey itself Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Thank you Carsten. It is always interesting to know the opinion of the minority. Now I must admit that I agree with the majority, I prefer also the other framing. Not only in this case but often, in particular in summer, when the sky is not very interesting. Link to comment
dan_cr 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I think seeing the distant hill adds to the image. Very nice. Cheers! Link to comment
jm.legros 0 Posted September 8, 2006 J'avais déª aperçµ celle-ci sans prendre la peine de m'arrê´¥r, mais elle m'impressionne, ainsi que l'autre vue de l'abbaye. Trè³ beau travail ! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted September 16, 2006 I like both of these shots but I was interested to which of them gave me a feeling of 'being there'. I think it is this one as the other version though a fine shot seems to give less sense of depth beyond (behind) the monastery. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 17, 2006 Thank you Daniel, Alec, Jean-Marc and Colin. I see that the opinions are just about divided. Sky, no sky ? After all, perhaps is it only a mater of taste ? Link to comment
