davidmccracken 2 Posted August 25, 2006 David was looking for a new Gardener. This interviewee didn't know much about plants but David felt she had other qualities. She got the job. Feedback Appreciated! Link to comment
blackdogstudio 1 Posted August 25, 2006 Hey David, love the directional nature of the light here and your composition. The image is a little hot (over-exposed) on the right - maybe due to the chili pepper or the sexy gardener - but very good nonetheless. Nice one! Regards, Kelvin. Link to comment
dan_cr 0 Posted August 26, 2006 The model looks rather emmaciated and uncomfortable. For those two reason, I think the pose is not so good. Cheers! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 26, 2006 Kelvin, Thanks for the honest comment. I think the over exposure is more to do with the fact that I haven't properly calibrated the monitor on my new computer. I will have a play with it. Daniel, I welcome comments on my photographs pertaining to the photograph. I would be grateful if you could keep your opinions about the people in my photographs to yourself. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted August 26, 2006 There may be some over exposure on the right, I agree, but the image is a killer. I think this is one of the best you have done. It is very different for you and that may be part of the reason for my fascination with it. I hope there are more from this shoot coming soon. The model is perfect for this image, -Owen Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 27, 2006 Owen, Thanks for the comment. I do have other compositions from this shoot. I am fairly sure I will upload some of them. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted August 27, 2006 David, I have problems with exposure too - so I checked with 2 monitors, Usually the Sony CRT is more accurate then the LCD. You got a strong, taut gardener, can you keep up? ^_^ Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 28, 2006 Yes Alec! The left arm is a little too hot. It looks fine on the computer from which I uploaded it. I will have to recalibrate. The colour print version of this looks fine. I may upload it later for comparison. Link to comment
bodyline 0 Posted August 30, 2006 This is indeed a great shot, I quite like the hot spots in this case. Awsome model Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 30, 2006 I must say that I was very lucky to meet this lovely woman. I am glad you like the picture of her. I hope to photograph her again. Unfortunately she is incredibly busy. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 3, 2006 I've been looking at this one for a couple of days now, David, trying to decide what to say. Needless to say, I prefer the b&w version, despite the hot areas on her left arm, etc. And I definitely like this model! It may be the camera angle, but she looks tall for an Asian lady. And rather than "emaciated," I see her as nicely lean and angular, with good definition of the rib cage and abdomen. The lines of her face give her a very defining (and somewhat defiant) look as well. A very striking young lady. The necklace is a nice touch, too...adding a nice visual point of interest, as does the texture of the wall. And touching on the "hot spots" again just briefly...don't know if you've noticed, but there is a trend lately in the fash/glam world towards a certain hotness in the highlights. So who know, David? You may be on the cutting edge! Very nice. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 3, 2006 Thanks for the detailed comment Jim. There really isn't a lot I can say in reply. However, I am sure to post more photographs of this lovely model. Link to comment
