greg_smith14 0 Posted August 24, 2006 This shot was made at around midnight. I used a 4 second exposure at f/2.2 and ISO 100 to capture the light trails of the flying insects attracted to the light. I used a very low angle (camera on the ground, lens supported by a bean bag) to eliminate the glare from the light, which was lighting a palm tree to the left of the image. I also used an IR remote shutter release to eliminate camera shake. In hindsight, i think a smaller aperture with a slightly longer exposure might have worked better. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted August 27, 2006 Great idea, indeed. The result is very good. I think a smaller aperture would result in losing some of the traces. This summer I tried to capture traces of fireflies, at ISO 200, but to no avail. Nothing was captured on the film. I do not understand how somebody can give this a 4 ("average") for originality.
