aepelbacher 0 Posted August 24, 2006 This is a home on the island of Bogo, Denmark. We walked past this home and I grabbed a quick snap, and have come back to this image over and over again ... I really like the way little pieces of wood were used so creatively. I boosted the saturation a bit more than usual. What are your thoughts? Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted August 24, 2006 I agree that it is a very interesting structure and decorative theme. Great as part of a portfolio on your Denmark trip. Too bad you didn't have time for more than a quick snap. I can see several compositions here. John PS- Does not appear oversaturated on my screen. Nice choice. Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted August 25, 2006 I agree with John - too bad you didn't have time for more than one shot. This is really nice; fascinating, so I can see why you go back to it. It is not over-saturated on my monitor, either. Nice, and nice work. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 25, 2006 If I remember correctly, Bente & her sister and I were walking toward the school where Alis works, as they were going to show me around a Danish school (I'm a school teacher here in the States). We walked past this house, and I turned to take a photo and I think that they were still walking, so I rushed to catch up. That is, if I remember correctly. Maybe Bente will have to go back there and take some more photos of the place for us! :-D Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted August 25, 2006 All the wood artwork, and a dead tree, hmmmm....interesting place. Too bad you didn't have more time, next trip! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 26, 2006 Lou Ann, it must have been an interesting place, and I agree that it is worth more images than one. I think that it is too busy and the eye jumps from place to place without an anchor to rest, but I think it is worth sacrificing some of the ellements in order to accentuate others, what I find the main attraction. It changes the form to a kind of a pano, but it shows the wood art. I just wanted to show you what I mean. BTW, nice new bio;-)) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Pnina - that crop is GREAT ... and I don't even MISS any of the things that were cropped out. Thank you ... great idea! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 26, 2006 I like the crop, too - works well. Interesting place! Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted August 28, 2006 Love the shot, but think the crop by Pnina really brings it all together. Now, how about monotones? Just a thought. Les Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted August 29, 2006 I'm for cropping - but I'd keep the handrails and make it more diagonal than hotizontal. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Handrails? Diagonal? Colin - I'm having trouble picturing that. If you have a minute (!!) ... I'd love to see what you're talking about! :-) Link to comment
