olli.pekonen 0 Posted August 22, 2006 We tried all sorts of poses on this wall, and they were "OK" but nothing incredibly special. Then we tried this. I'm not sure about it... what's your take on this? Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted August 24, 2006 Hi OlliI like it. I like what she's wearing too. It complements her figure.. The leaves in the near background are a bit of a distraction IMHO. I'd have preferredonly the (dull coloured) stone wall to be in focus then the rest to be thrown out of focus by a wide aperture. That tree trunk is a bit distracting as well.As I said, though, I DO like the pose! :)Best regards from Kenya,Mark Link to comment
bradford 0 Posted November 13, 2006 Hey Olli, Nice portfolio! The pose? To me it looks like she's too stretched out and uncomfortable. So in other words, she's too posed IMHO. She's really lengthened out her left arm and raised her knee way high. She's almost doing the splits. Suggestion- work it until she naturally falls into a pose. People do it all the time if you just watch them. I had one girl in front of the camera in the studio who couldn't pose when asked (it always looked forced.) So we just let her do whatever and talk in a conversation, then she'd let her defenses down and fall into a pose that worked. Also, I usually will ask if they're "comfortable?" If they answer yes, that usually is a good sign although that doesn't always work. Good luck and keep photographing! Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted November 22, 2006 Brad: you are right, the pose is stretched, to a point it starts bothering the observer. To place your model on a wall like Humpty Dumpty is not easy, though. Many many poses in studios are done in a very dynamic way - the model is told to jump, turn fast, shake his/her head etc. The upside of that is that the model forgets to be unsure about his/herself :-) Link to comment
