aepelbacher 0 Posted August 22, 2006 This is a shot that I'm iffy on... The right hand side is too dark ... I can't remember if I used a circular polarizing filter, but if I did, I must have turned it incorrectly. Rrrrrr... Anyway, this was taken around sunset, I was standing on a dock looking back toward the land. Thoughts? Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted August 22, 2006 Hi Lou Ann, I thought a crop would draw attention to the sky gradient in order to enhance the subject. The rest are color/contrast tweaks. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 22, 2006 Thanks, Michael ... I like your crop. I guess that I was a bit emotionally attached to the rocks in the foreground. :-) Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted August 22, 2006 I would have included the rocks too, Lou Ann. Water is just too nice to exclude, but as you say, iffy... one of those close-but-no-cigar shots that fills my hard drive. :-) Link to comment
torfinn 0 Posted August 22, 2006 Nice shot. It seems a little to dark? I think it is nice with those stones in the foreground. What happens if you lighten it up a little? I like it. nice composition. Congrats! Torfinn Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted August 22, 2006 I love this with the rocks and water included...the warm sunlight is very nice. Have you ever played with lighting effects? I've recently learned (thx Ken) and am having fun playing with all the possibilities. Not sure what it would do here, but it might be worth a try. What beautiful countryside! Les Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted August 22, 2006 Here's my attempt...what do you think? The settings were: Omni, intensity 21, gloss 21, material 69, exposure 0, ambience 13. Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted August 25, 2006 What caught my eye, right off, was the saturation of the original, that I like. Seeing the 2nd version, the sky seems to be better, a better sky blue color. I like it with the rocks in front, they add to the overall composition, which is very good. Nice shot! I vote for version #2 w/ the rocks. Link to comment
