Shamsur Rahman

Shamsur Rahman (1929-2006) is one of the great poets of Bangla

liturature. I had a rare chance to portray him. A soft spoken

person, but was always active when needed in cultural, social or

political movements. contributed in language movement, 1969 movement

against Pakistan and despite his presence in 1971 liberation war he

kept on writing for the countries independence. Poetry was his

weapon to fight. Mr Rahman passed away on 17 Aug, 2006.
