Landrum Kelly 64 Posted August 21, 2006 Is this the bookshop again, Ada? It certainly is a very unusual place. Great work, as usual. --Lannie Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Hi Lannie, thank you for your kind comment. Yes indeed, this is the bookshop again. When you view 'larger' you can catch a glimpes of the female statue. She is in the right corner of the reading room. That also gives you an idea from which point I took my earlier shot of the 'mysterious' hall with the doors. Greetings, Ada:) Link to comment

ada-ipenburg 0 Posted August 21, 2006 O Tony, I'm so glad that you like it! You stood next to me at the moment I took this shot and that is what it makes it all so special to me! Thank you so much for your great comment. Huggies, Ada:-) Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted August 21, 2006 Yes, I recgnoize this charming bookkshop again. It's so warm & inviting. I think I will fall in love with this book shop if I am there. Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted August 21, 2006 This is the reading room of a bookshop. In contrast to the reading room the viewpoint from where I took the shot was quite dark. The daylight that felt in, gave me some problems; In particular the floor is partly overexposed. I'll appreciate your suggestions and comments. Thank you very much, Ada. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted August 22, 2006 I can make out the top of the arch above the bust, Ada. I really can't tell a thing about the statue, but, yes, this helps me figure out the layout of the place. --Lannie Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted August 22, 2006 Love the perfect details & perspective, rich color tones, excellent balance on exposure, and very good framing, Ada, it's absolutely peaceful & nicely interiors shot!!! Best regards. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 22, 2006 nice again Ada, I like the inside/outside together and especially the inside. Nice trilogy of a library. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted August 26, 2006 The part slightly overexposed of the floor bothers me much less that the very dark parts of the foreground, where are the books. I think that the flash would have been necessary here, or rather two spots for light up the sides. And even another one for the underside of the table. What idea to photography against the light ! :) Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Do you think this version of the picure looks better Henri? I don't understand that you don't see the books in the framed version though I agree that for a more perfect picture it had been nice when there was some more lightning in the foreground. But even if I had wanted it, I had not been able to set up lightning at that place. It's a bookstore so I was already very grateful that the owner was so kind to give me his permission to take some shots in his shop. And BTW, what is so strange to take a picture against the light? I've done that before. Do you remember that shot I took in Bruges? The one I dedicated to you? That one is real taken against the light. Link to comment
wogears 186 Posted August 28, 2006 Very interesting interior shot. Sorry I haven't fixed that other floor for you--there is something odd about the perspective. Link to comment
jeverz 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Heel mooie foto Ada! Goede sfeer hier. (Bedankt voor je leuke commentaar op mijn ratjes, groeten van Ellen.) Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Hi Les, thank you very much for your kind words. You're right, there is something odd with the perspective of the tyles and that was also the reason for me that I couldn't fix the job. I've discovered a very disturbing declination of my 18-55 mm lens and I quess that that must be the cause of it. In the meantime I've fetched a real tiler {my brother Wim:~)} and he succeeded. Nevertheless thank you very much for your effort to help me, Les. I really appreciate your gesture. Best Regards, Ada:-) Hallo Ellen! Groetjes, Ada:~) Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Ada, I apologize to you for two things : first, I was joking with my "What idea to photography against the light !". It is just a way of putting it. A manner to say that you don't content yourself with easy shots. It is a compliment. Secondly because on the screen where I see your photo today, the foreground is not so dark than I believed the other day. My problem is that I connect on photo.net with the computers of the company where I work, one day on this one, one day on this other, and the screens are not calibrated in the same way. In fact, I don't find no fault with your photo. Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Dear Henri, you really don't need to excuse your self. I don't feel offended by your remark about 'the idea etc'. To be honest, I was surprised by it because I had done something similar once before and I liked to know more precisely what you exactly meant to say like: did you found my action 'daring', 'original' or 'against all photographic rules'? I had no idea but I was interested to hear what you meant. So nothing to worry about! Warm Regards, Ada. Link to comment
