sjmurray 33,035 Posted August 18, 2006 Bird photography is not my forte, so I feel lucky to get a good shotnow and then when a really spectacular bird comes along like this. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted August 20, 2006 Whoaaa - sure better than anything I ever got Steve - very interesting pose you nailed. Shutter speed and the circumstances involved ? Link to comment
sjmurray 33,035 Posted August 20, 2006 Hey Ken. Thanks for stopping by. this guy was causing ruckus with the neighborhood birdies. My neighbor spotted him first in a tree, then he flew ever to her clothes line pole and sat there for a while. I grabbed the 28-300 lens and got as close as I could. I did a number of shots as he sat there and sized us up. He can turn his head 180 degrees to look backwards, like an owl! Anyway, I waited until he decided to leave, then snapped at that moment (1/320, f 7.1). Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted October 9, 2009 Luck is good! Crop out the clothes line. I offer my tweaked version (OK, maybe a bit over the top) for your consideration. I simply mean to show that this one has real possibilities. Nice shot in any case. Best, LM. Link to comment
sjmurray 33,035 Posted October 10, 2009 Thanks for the idea Len. I don't do a lot of bird photography. Your version is very nice. Link to comment
mbh 0 Posted May 5, 2010 Beautiful capture, it's got a lot of visual interest both from the in-the-air action and the visually appealing background. Link to comment
