laurent_jaussi 0 Posted August 23, 2006 Those eyes with light...fantastic...I like the DoF...this shot gives as well the kids fragility and profound expression...well done. an apparte: sincerely I know taking kids pictures can be frustrating sometimes (they move all the time, don't do what we would like them to do for the shot...etc...etc)...you have to make tons of shots to achieve good one like this. On the other hand I don't know anything more rewarding when you have such a result...I know some people are minoring children photo...I think it's a very important part of photography and I have learned a lot by practicing kids photo, among others the key virtues of photography: preparation & patience....you do it well Sherry. skersell33 0 Posted August 23, 2006 Thank you for you comments on this photo. The fact that this baby girl is gorgeous also helps the outcome of this image. She does baby modeling and she is one of my photo clients that I do portrait updates for. I absolutely adore her and love to take pictures of her. I agree that people do not give credit to child photography that they should. Honestly, I would like some photographers out there to take a moment to photograph children. Then they might have a better understanding that it really does require burning through a 5meg card before you can get a few good photographs. Again, I remember one photographer recommending I place my subject in a less lit area and use reflectors. You and I both know that is impossible to do with a moving child. :-) I don't feel child photography is respected in a manner that it should be. But again, that's OK. My clients love my work and that is why they keep coming back to me, right? Regards! Link to comment
gerfoy3 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Sherry "I place my subject in a less lit area and use reflectors"... Ha Classic, obviously does not even have children. Think it would go something like the following, assuming it went well. "Can we go over here honey?" Sherry Oh look at that white board, how interesting thinks the child as she pulls it apart for about 30 seconds and then spots something else over the other side of the room/garden/park. Eh, for the idiot, children have an attention span of about 30 seconds and if you force them to something they don't want they either, cry or do the opposite. This image is fantastic and those eyes! The light is wonderfully soft. Well done. Ger.. Link to comment

gerfoy3 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Ah, cool... I'm in the process of updating the poor one I have with a view to getting a new one and getting business cards done up. Finally decided what area of photography I'm pushing. I'm going to give the lifestyle childrens photography a go. Its not like the states over here, no one does it, photographers are still in studios over here. The only time they go out of them are to do weddings and that type of thing so we'll see what happens! Let me know when you have something up and I'll have a look. I'm no expect on website but I do work as a software test engineer so I have a bit of a feel for user flow and that sort of think. Ger..
