Nyhavn is the main tourist sight in Copenhagen, possibly only 2nd to The Little Mermaid (I didn't get any photos of her that are worth posting). The harbor is old and the buildings are all painted different bright colors. It's pretty, and there were hundreds and hundreds of people around. The sky was lousy, rather grey, but I loved shooting these fun buildings with the ships all parked in front of them.

Do the people add to the shot, or detract from it?

I get a little bit disturbed about all this people, but that is my opinion. Maybe a few but not that many. It is indeed a good picture. Good colours and composition. Great with those old boats. Congrats!

I would have tried to keep the people down to a minimum - a few artistically posed people are fine but a crowd tends to look untidy and people will insist on wearing clashing colours. I might try changing the blues to browns in PS just to harmonise their clothes sense as shown. The composition is good and I always like old boats....

The New Harbour - is an old harbour build in 1629. Along the harbour runs an old street with colorfull old houses and every house has a story. The oldest house is build in 1689.

Lou Ann ... I'll be back here later when I arive at home.

It is a good idea, when the sky is whitish or uniformly grey, to avoid it and concentrate your look on the houses, particularly when they are so coloured than in the nordic countries. Excellent choice of this boat and the mast as a foreground. I like the Colin's suggestion to change the colours of people, and I admit that I had never thought to this possibility.

Colin - what a GREAT idea!! It never occurred to me to do that. I believe that it's the best solution for a difficult problem with this image. Thanks!
