sondra kick 0 Posted August 13, 2006 Tony, this is a beautiful IR landscape. I like the reflection of the clouds in the river. Link to comment

Michael Montgomery 0 Posted August 14, 2006 Excellent, Beautiful, and Great Contrast! Tony Which Do You Like Best The DSC-V3 Or The DSC-F717? I Currently Own The DSC-F717 And Love It. What Do You See As The Advantages Of One Over The Other. I'm Looking To Add Another Camera, And For Infrared I'm Looking At The DSC-F828 And The DSC-V3. Link to comment
tony georgiadis 0 Posted August 14, 2006 thanks Sondra I appreciate now I understand why THE Dutch WERE Masters at painting. The country setting and art are one and the same. You cannot live here and not be captivated. Link to comment
tony georgiadis 0 Posted August 14, 2006 Michael thanks i lovethem both80/% of my infrared pictures where shot witht the 717 The V3 is indeed the best camera in its class. Look at it a smaller sibling of the F828 without the purple fringing problems. For me it complements my H1, which is great for outdoors. There will not be another camera like the V3, as Sony is for some unknown reasons dropping its unique features, such as laser hologram focus assist and night shots infrared-based options. The camera was targeted for the prosumer market priced at $700. Now at $430 it is a bargain of a lifetime. Its successor. if there is going to be any, which is quite doubtful, will not be made to such standards as the $700 price range is getting unrealistic for this type of camera. So something will have to be dropped. Most likely the metal body, the great lens, along with the laser hologram and nightshot features. Yielding to marketing forces it will most likely get more megapixels in same size sensor, resulting in more noise. So buy it while you can, there is no sense in waiting for something better.
