davidmccracken 2 Posted August 12, 2006 It's good to stand out from the crowd. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
dan_cr 0 Posted August 12, 2006 By intent or not, I think the sign stands out more than your model. Cheers! Link to comment
alones 2 Posted August 12, 2006 This is beautiful . There is a bit of overexposure but even so ,I really like it Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 12, 2006 I agree the sign stays out a bit. but i realy like it. the frame doesn't go with the shot tho, don't you agree? Link to comment
annie_ferderer 0 Posted August 12, 2006 This is outstanding!! It's just perfect.... thanks for sharing. best wishes annie Link to comment
neilpeters 0 Posted August 12, 2006 absolutely fantastic. if I owned Marks and Spencer, I'd be looking for you and my checkbook :) Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 13, 2006 Daniel, Your comment is valid. That said, although the dress she is wearing was not bought at M&S, it is a very M&S style. Alon, I hear what you say about the over exposure. I hate taking street photographs in bright sunlight. The exposure was set for her face. Kramer, I am glad you like it. I am not sure what to say about the frame. It is just a way of separating the photograph from the white of P.N. Annie, Perhaps not perfect but I am glad that you think it is. Thanks! Neil, I wish you owned M&S. Thanks everyone. Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted August 13, 2006 I like the flowing action, nice pose also.. Would love to see more, beautiful women and the city of Hong Kong, the perfect mix... PS: I buy all my socks from M&S ;-) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 13, 2006 Very good idea! I must copy this. Works very well indeed. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted August 13, 2006 Wonderful ! You had to have dome Grey density filters on, right? cheers Jana Link to comment

davidmccracken 2 Posted August 14, 2006 Alex, Thanks for the comment. I will be sure to post more of this beautiful model later. Meanwhile, you can look here. Juha, I look forward to your copy. Jana, I am glad you like this. As for the grey filter.... NO! I didn't. I should have though! Edwin, Yes... I would go for the model too rather than the M&S. Jim, Just thanks! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 15, 2006 John... Don't tell me I am clever.... I know! Seriously, we tried this a few times.... more than a few actually! This was the best of a bad bunch. If the model has time, I am sure we will do something similar again. Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Wow, I think I just transported into the Matrix, but everything is in reverse. I like this! :-) Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted August 15, 2006 Yeah, indeed good to stand out from the crowd. Spot on on the model against the moving crowd. The signboard doesn't bother me, otherwise how to classify as a street shot ? :-) Link to comment
donaldadams 0 Posted August 15, 2006 beautiful, ive tried to do something like this but everything comes out really overexposed, i was wondering what your shutter/fstop/iso was at. and thank you for your comment! i will work on all of it. -don Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 16, 2006 Thomas, I don't understand your comment but thanks for leaving one. Cherlyn, It is good to read different opinions on the same photograph. The sign bothers some people which is fair enough. I am glad that it doesn't bother you. Don, I will check the dtails if you really want but as I remember, it was f22 for 1/3 second at ISO 400. When I mentioned commenting on the photos of others, I didn't mean mine... but I am glad you did. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted September 5, 2006 David, a strong ND filter will help to control the bright areas and the use of slower speed. Great idea, you should try and experiment more. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 6, 2006 Thanks again Alec. There was no intention to take this photo and we didn't have a lot of time. I have to say I am not a fan of bright sunlight and rarely take photos in the sun. Link to comment
stanton imaging 0 Posted October 25, 2006 again david this works for me. i quite like the burned out area's they help keep my attention on the model. if i was being picky i would have tried to frame out the M&S signs. that said still works Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted October 26, 2006 David, Thanks for the comment. There are a lot of things I like about this image and a lot of things I don't. Having said that, most people who have commented don't like the M&S sign. I think that is a fair comment. Link to comment
robin a. 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Makes me think of the holiday mad rush, with people frantically shopping & there is this totally cool girl who just does not need to be a part of it! I like the sign. Beautiful image. robin Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted March 8, 2007 I must admit when I am in Hong Kong I don't like to be part of the rush. I think this sums up my feelings about the place. Thanks again. Link to comment
