This is a very strange butterfly (?). It is present in my country from not many years. It looks a litte like a humming-bird, becose it moves the wings very quickly, and it remains in fly all the time. I never seen one of these insects posed on a plant.

And it remains in the same position 1 or 2 seconds!

The insect is 3 or 4 centimeters big (1,5 - 2 inches)

Thanks for your help!

You were almost right. It is a hummingbird moth. (Moth's, in general, have thicker antennae than butterflies.) Most of these do not have scales on their wings which allows them to flap so fast, this one appears to have some on the lower wing which is nice because it adds some substance to the image.

Thank You very much, Shawn! I was really struck by this insect, and I was really courious about the species.

The photos are bad, but it was evening, and this subject is really too fast for me!

Try looking up Sphinx Moth. May be called humming bird moth in your part of the world but we have a moth in the U.S. that resembles a humming bird when flying. And in the description in the book says may be mistaken for a hummingbird.
