european garden spider or cross spider -araneus diadematus Spider

Must be the season for spiders. I just put one in my singles folder a couple days ago. Interesting creatures. Is this one really that pale or is it overexposed....

Joan, this one was lighted by a low sun from the side. That's why one hind leg looks a bit transparent or blown out. If I would make that darker, you wouldn't be able to see the face-like markings on its underbelly, which I find interesting. Thanks very much for your question & critique. Cheers, Sam.
