paula grenside 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Very original, Kim. Ithought of Picasso's bananas at first. excellent background, too. Link to comment
nirakara 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Yes, the colors are really vibrant and go so well together, the bg blends very well too. Looks like the studio lighting has worked very well, I am curious to see the original if you don't mind. Chitra Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 9, 2006 What kind of comments are you looking for? Because ... I LOVE it!!! :-) It's a bit less abstract than some of the others. I really like that you can make out the entire center of the flower. Thanks for sharing this with us. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 9, 2006 Lou Ann, your comments will work just fine! :) I have a black background now for my studio lights, so will be experimenting with flowers against that soon. Link to comment
nirakara 0 Posted August 9, 2006 Thanks for posting the original, Kim. I like how you've warmed up the colors in your initial posting (the distorted one) and I also like that you've made the lighting and bg appear more subdued. Link to comment
giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted August 10, 2006 very nice distortion kim.. tones are very good, moreover yellows and reds are naturally contrasting colours, and when you add fucsia color as well ... it really gets me a chromatic addiction... i like this distort becouse the flower seems to be dying in the bottom of the frame... strange, becouse vibrant colours suggests otherwise... nice idea and well done to me. reasonsupreme 0 Posted August 19, 2006 This is excellent, and I am really in awe of the simplistic beauty of it... Love the pinks and other soft colors that comprise the background. Did this effect introduce any unsavory pixelating distortion to the photo or does it look pretty sharp at large print sizes? I've had such trouble, but I usually just throw another layer or two in and lose it in confusion. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us all, you are an inspiration. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 19, 2006 Bruce, I don't lose any sharpness, even in the larger sizes. I usually print these at least 12x16. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 20, 2006 Thanks, Kim. Will be doing more of these now that I have my "cube" and studio lights. Whole different effect with inside flowers as I have more control over the background. Link to comment
joanbn 0 Posted September 25, 2006 I've commented on a few of your photos but never browsed through your portfolio. Lou Ann A. directed me to your "distorted flowers" and they are all amazing. Your a true artist. I'll be back to check out more.... Link to comment
