pnital 36 Posted August 6, 2006 A very moving meeting while visiting the children's paintings section, done in II world war (in the years 1942-1944) in Terezin. While observing the works done by the children, I have found a photo of one of Johannes Vermeer, the dutch painter( 1632-1675), and 3 Works done by MARIE, GUSTA, and MARTA, reffering to his work.Doing my serries of "Follow the light, hommage Johannes Vermeer" HERE it was so touching, taking into account the difficult condition of the children and still having the immagination to overcome the exterior and looking to the beauty of his work. I felt a strong connection with the memory of the children through a mutual love of the fine arts, and his work. (It was photographed with the paintings under a glass ) Thanks, Pnina Link to comment

mikestacey 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Pnina, here you use your art to convey the art of the children who also convey the art of Johannes Vermeer. Great! All art forms are such a strong way of expressing such feelings; when words are useless. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 8, 2006 Mike, thanks for expressing it so beautifully. Words are not adequate to express my feeling of connection to those children . Pnina Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted August 8, 2006 Pnina, I can not help but feel these children's artwork have a very great meaning, a very sad meaning......I read a great deal about WWII from 1956 to 1994, originally out of respect for several uncles that fought in it......There is one thing for certain, I have read enough to realize how little I know about it.....I get the feeling something terrible went on at Terezin.......God bless and keep you, my friend.....Jim Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 8, 2006 Jim, thanks for you kind words, Terezin was only one of them.! Mentally it was a close encounter with the 3 of them, through art. Link to comment

jim kerr 0 Posted August 9, 2006 Pnina, I just wanted you to know that there are a great many millions of people in this world that care a great deal about the terrible things that have happened to their Jewish cousins during the 1930's and 40's as well as what is happening now......Jim Link to comment
