John Peri 1,027 Posted November 6, 2008 I feel embarrassment sometimes when I see the ratings, how can so many be so wrong. I love this personally and I feel, like so often in the past with your works, that the panel/texture added in the back is simply brilliant. Link to comment
Elstad 6 Posted November 6, 2008 Hey John, Often I wonder if the Puritans have invaded the rating system of nude photography... anonomous, never could spell, 3 raters have no cajones, tanates, sack... hiding behind their anonimity... Here we have a Mexican term 'pendejo' which figurativly means fool but literally means pubic hair... So I say unto the anonomous 3 raters... Pendejos! perhaps they are just jealous and frustrated non artistic pendejos who raise themselves up by tearing down the work of others... so it goes... one must have a thick skin to put oneself out in the world... r. John Peri 1,027 Posted November 6, 2008 Hy Raymond, you also added this answer under my profile (tribute page?) which I am not sure is where this discussion should be posted. Frankly, I did not have in mind the compulsive threesomes (sic) when making the remark above. I really meant that I was surprised at the absence of general understanding of the qualities of a picture such as this. Worse than the ones who downgrade a photo on principle, who are of no interest, are those people that do not appreciate art for what it is. Of course this is subjective, and I do not mean to look down on other people's taste, inasmuch as it is sincere. As for the rating system, admittedly I do not take it all seriously, nor do I often look at my ratings, other than sometimes to make a return courtesy visit to their page. I am delighted every time someone gives me a 3 because it lifts up the photo in the "visibility scale", exposing it to more view and critiques. So in a sense, the effect is counterproductive to what they had in mind .. :-) Best wishes my friend, John Link to comment
Elstad 6 Posted November 8, 2008 I've never thought about '3' ratings putting one higher. Thanks for this new insight, I feel better already... Bring on the 3's... lol... Link to comment
