billangel 9,671 Posted August 17, 2006 I should point out a darker side to the metaphorical symbolism. It happens that the #10 bus to "Paradise" has stops (before reaching "Paradise") at the Louden Park Cemetery, and also at the Baltimore National Cemetery. Louden Park Cemetery contains an area known as Confederate Hill, that contains the graves of over 600 people, mostly soldiers who fought for the Confederacy. Farther up the bus route is the bus stop for the Baltimore National Cemetery, which contains the graves of 44,000 people, soldiers who fought for the USA and also their families. These graves span the era from the Civil War to Vietnam.http://static.flickr.com/69/225150889_baa179d017_o.jpg Link to comment
billangel 9,671 Posted August 17, 2006 An example of Conceptual/Metaphorical photography that relies on both text and images to convey its meaning. (see my explanatory comments) Link to comment
