To the west of London, high on a hill lies this beautiful church

building and graveyard. It was very quiet here and I wanted to

capture its peace....The whole area was begging to be photographed,

so I obliged.

I love this image. It has great impact. Great foreground with the white flower against the dark grave. Excellent color and interest in midground and the church makes a great subject. Your desaturation of the clouds adds drama to this image. Congratulations. 7/7.

The detail in the billowing, almost smoky, clouds adds a lot of drama for me. But its the almost unnatural detailness in the texture of the grass and stonework. Did you boost the contrast in the texture in post production work?

I guess it is the lens and your positioning that makes it look like everything, including the viewer, is being pulled into and behind the church, as if by a vortex. Interesting and effective.

Thankyou Lucy and all for your comments. I really did find this place very attractive and compelling, everything seemed to be perfect for a photo shoot. I always want my pictures to mean something, there was some post processing here, contrast and sky etc. but much the same as in my Northumberland folder. It was a gloomy day however, but I like days like this....

I envy you for the beautiful places you had access to. Really whole new world created by your images. And again, I am curious how you get this colorization, in particular the green and the grays, that create such wonderful atmospere. Is it a plugin, manipulation with the channels or something else? Congratulations.

I only use PS, it is difficult to explain how I get this effect, I call it the medievil look, I use extra contrast and then desaturate certain colours.
