Just beyond that farthest piece of grass that you can see is the North Sea. I found a lovely scenic drive along the western coast of Denmark. I have two other shots of this place, one zoomed in real close to the red building and one very much wider angle. I like this one the best. It was raining, as it did on and off the whole time I was in Denmark. Bente tells me that this is typical. The overcast skies often gave me interesting lighting. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated as usual! :-)

This photo would be great with more interesting light. Now the sky is a little bit boring and the photo looks flat. Sidelighting would help. Anyway nice idea and composition.

Lou Ann, I like the idea and the composition where the little red house is peeping behind .I agree that the FG, needs more sharpness of details and more light and so the sky that are flat. I think that it has a nice potential, you wrote you have more of that place, lets see them, but I think that this one can be worked on more with enhanced results. BTW, the red and green are complementary colors and works well together.

Thanks folks - I LOVE what this image could be ... but it was sort of a drive by. I don't even know if I COULD find it again. Maybe. Who knows when I'll be in that part of Denmark again. Anyway ... following are the other two shots I took there (same poor lighting conditions) and another version of the original post, sharpened and color-tweaked. If anyone wants the original out-of-the-camera version to play with, let me know. :-)

Light conditions are not ideal. I like best the one taken with 160mm zoom.Details are better seen as it is closer, the red house is very nice Lou Ann. Nice of you to upload all of them, looks a real nice place to visit.

What a great looking home, nice and nestled. The original looks best I think, so called rule of thirds works very well here. To me...seems to resemble a giant peeking over the hill with a funny looking hat on...((:

I can very well understand why most of the commentators prefer the photos with a closer look of the house but for me it's the one taken with the 28 mm. It shows out the strange landscape much more than the others. And the landscape at the west coast is something special. It's formed by the strong wind coming in from the North Sea. No trees and bushes can grow here and I think it's the most 'natural' nature you can find in Denmark. It's a rough place to live and people living there in the older times were formed by this rough landscape. Most of them were fishermen - few worded - living of the sea and they were used to the ocean took from them what it wanted. All women knew to the loss of a son or a husbond. A very special landscape and the way you have captured it shows so well how harsh it can be when the clouds come rolling in. Just my thoughts Lou Ann.

Bente, I LOVE getting your thoughts on my photos from Denmark. I only hope to accurately portray your beautiful country. Please keep coming back and giving us the background on these shots ... you know the stories so much better than I do!!

I agree with Wilson. This sort of weather with grey skies is why I use ND grads a lot. They make overcast skies much more interesting. I like the way the huse seems to be peering over the grass.
