Interesting and thought provoking, Claire. For me, it needs a slight reduction in Gamma, and a touch of contrast, to better show more detail. Also a crop from the right border, about halfway to the bowl to decentralize it, and provide better balance. It's faster to do it than try to explain. See what you think.
