I like the cropping, close on his face and the hand, and his expression. Nice idea, it's a very sweet and unique shot.

The highlight on his face and the left edge on the wall seem a bit hot. Not sure what your light source was, but perhaps simply scooting it back a bit would do the trick. Looks a bit like an incandescent bulb would, once converted to bw. Also, I wish the focus had fallen on the letters on the wall rather than the space and lines in front.
