billysyk 0 Posted August 6, 2006 Indeed very good shot! The dificulcy about drummers is that they have their own time frame. Up-beats Down-beats. When on snare drums you rarely have a good shot, unless he is so quick on it that he must literally jump of from his chair. Or else he (or she) must get cought when hitting a tom or crash hat- that is most of the times the change of meter and where most of the time the mood of the music changes or the singer gets the lead, so in that time the drummer has its full potential. Why 5/5. I could see that photo on his DVD tutorial about drums, BECAUSE it's a GREAT shot full of colours great lighting and movent on the sticks. On the other hand it is a little typical or cliche corner of photographing. Thats why originality 5. As about aesthetics , the mike is in front of his face thus, making it technically not good. Secondly I would like more space on top of his head to show the contrast of his hair, and not to have the feeling that some hair is cut already ! :-)) I would trim or smudge the two white lines behind him, they are a bit destracting. All these make the other 5. I hope I helped and was constructive. Link to comment
