Vado Diomande, a New York City dancer and drum maker, speaks to the

press at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, after recovering from

inhalation anthrax he believes he contracted from animal skins used in

his drum making. Diomande, who collapsed after a performance at a

Pennsylvania university, spent more than a month at the Sayre

hospital. Public health authorities quarantined and deconaminated both

his Brooklyn studio and Greenwich Village apartment. With his wife,

Lisa Diomande, at his side, Diomande, a native of Ivory Coast, told

reporters the hospital staff "do a very good job. Because if not

them, maybe I'm not here today."
