present/ce is past + future - and reflecting

Knowing where this is gives the lines a strong symbolic meaning. The past leads us through the present and into the future. We cannot escape from the light and dark of the past or ignore it but we all help to shape the present and the future.

It's always a thin line of separation between war & peace, and many choose to walk this thin line carelessly that brings choas. Your picture is a reminder, yes, of past history that hurts . But lets hope for a better & brighter future.

Pinna, it is nice how the architectual lines of the museum "the past" contrast with the line of people in the background "the present". The interplay of light and shadows is indeed rich, as is your composition and its' symbolism. Best wishes to you and your family. Regards, Kelvin.

The abstract the shadows shape and that your attentive eye caught is amazing, Pnina.

Graphically very, very interesting. Really a lot to explore here. I'd like to see this in B&W. Since the motif is the lines of shadow and light, B&W might enhance the impact.

Chris, Here is a B/W conversion, do you think it is better?even I tried it before uploading the colored one, I have decided on the colored because of the people's colors at the end, ,they signify for me the colors of life!

I actually DO like the B&W better ... draws the focus to the strong lines. I can't say what I think any better than what Colin said so eloquently...

So much history is being destroyed by war! It hurts all of us and our future generations in so many ways. Thank goodness for the photographic records being made by so many people - photographers and non-photographers side by side.

 

Interesting play of light and shadows - I prefer the b&w version, as well.

Thanks Kim, Yes that is part of mankind History and especially ours. being in Prague a few days I have seen how a huge Jewish community was sweeped from the earth, and it is not the only place in Europe as you know,I have a lot more to say and I will upload some more of that subject, as the world has a short memory.
