shirkwolfe 0 Posted July 21, 2006 Too funny. How does that little church hold up that big steeple? Great human interest photo. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted July 23, 2006 Very nicely done, Dave. The tones give it a pleasing feel. It would seem that glitzing up religion is the in thing, all the way from this to the main line churches turning themselves into entertainment centers. Maybe that's okay, but it strikes me as an effort to further insulate people from the world beyond their self-imposed boundaries. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 23, 2006 Thanks again for your commentary. I took the picture with some of the same thought in mind that you express. Churches today are like business. Advertising and entertaining and doing everything they can to troll for customers. A great book I am in the middle of at this moment is "Thy Kingsdom Come: An Evangelical's Lament" by Randall Balmer. Doesn't address this issue directly, but is an excellent and thought provoking discussion of the separation of church and state. Very good. Link to comment
juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted July 26, 2006 This little church is not big enough to house a movie theater...like the ones around here...I do like the warm tones and the passion of the bright colores...Alice's Resturant by chance? nice shot! Link to comment
