Why not?

It's tough to visualize what this looks like in its entirety but I always enjoy ornate architectural detail. The two thoughts I have on this one are: (1)If it could be taken at a time of day when the shadows are not so intensely dark, the lines and depth of the wood would be more dramatic and the blue of the water would provide better contrast. The area above and to the left of the diagonal timber comes off better than area to the right and below the diagonal. I think this is largely because of the the darker shadows in the lower right. (2) This may well not be possible given the nature of the structure but if you could find a perspective that allowed more openings in the wood thus allowing us to see more water. FWIW! :)

Thank you, Jim. I appreciate all comments and suggestions, which are helpful, and yours was. :)

I thought I had seen this before and now I realize it is another version of X,Y & Z. I think the first one conveys the depth and patterns of the wood structure better but I like the way this one has an entirely blue background rather than a combination of sea and deck planks. Later!

Aah, you found me out, Jim. Yes, WHY is just a detail of a previous posting. I haven't had an opportunity to go for a shoot lately, so have been playing around with some of my old pix. :)
