The Old Bridge

Seems kind of rural: an old bridge and a couple of old pickups. I always felt the curves of

this old Gibson were sensual and, yet, somehow proper.

Ahhhh. An ES-335 me thinks. Very nice. And it looks like a vintage. With D'Addario strings too. I hear Larry Carlton playing. Or was it Lee Ritenour. Anyway, nice shot!!

Marty, thank you! Good eye: it's a 1962 335, played for the last 25 years by the guitarist whose band I'm in. A grand lady, still in beautiful condition to look at, but he said that it had gotten too hard to play (its frets are worn nearly flat to the fingerboard). 'Course, it was still better than most guitars, in his opinion, and sure sounded sweet. I'm glad I took some pics of it; he's recently parted with it (rather than try to have it reconditioned), for a pile of cash and a new Gibson (their reproduction of a '61), a blonde that looks and sounds about the same, but has frets you can feel, so he's pretty happy, even though he misses this ol' '62.
