Just one of many pictures from the 2006 Ottawa airshow at Carp

Airport, June 17. Looking for your input!

This is a really great shot. It's such a clear shot at a great moment. I'm curious though... maybe its me, but it looks like the center is lighter than the outer portions. It's as though there is a light source behind the F18...but that can't be...right?

It makes me sick when people can rate a photograph a 3/3 that looks like this. This is a high quality piece of work and deserves much, much more credit for your efforts. Congratulations. It is top notch. Cheers

Agreed 100% with Leon. Photo.net is a terrific resource but pretty sucky for getting fair evaluation of aviation, sports, and motorsport photography. FWIW I KNOW how hard it is to make this photograph...and I would challenge any of the so-called "artists" TO GET OUT THERE AND MAKE THIS SHOT--oh..wait...thats right...blurred dark images of bums sleeping in vomit is worth ever so much more than this! I am not bitter...just that if someone is going to ding an image if this quality they should be identified and required to make a comment as to WHY!

Sorry for the soapbox----great photograph!

I had to come back and say that I totally agree with Leon and Ted...this is a beautiful shot and deserves much better than mindless low ratings. At least we know its a great shot...

Thanks, Daniel, Ted, Leon (and John)...

As an (enlightened) teacher I don't worry about marks...numbers are meaningless. It is the commentary that counts, and I must thank you folks for the wonderful comments, it means a lot to me as I strive to further my expertise in photography. As for the light effects, Daniel, it was an overcast (and really humid!) day with the sun slightly behind the plane, this could account for the inner glow of the vapour. It was a real challenge to get the exposure right, as I am sure air show photogs can attest to (thank God for multiple passes)!
