gianpaolodettoma 0 Posted December 9, 2001 Nice composition though Im' not sure I like the face covered in that way. The picture that I most prefer in your portfolio is NU000008 and its metamorphosis Link to comment
gk photography 0 Posted December 10, 2001 The composition/pose is great but I'm not crazy about the lighting. I'd have liked more separation between the model and the background. The shadows on the paper runningt from her feet give me pause. Now that I think about it, I might also have liked to see a continous flesh line around the hip rather than the break by the cloth. Overall, not too darned shabby. Sorry if I was nit-picking too much. Link to comment
joe grimes 0 Posted December 10, 2001 Different. Not too crazy about the covered face. Sort of reminds my of an Afgan woman. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 10, 2001 Nice tones, but I don't know what the shot is about. Is it about line? Mass? A particular part of her body? I feel confused by this photo. Link to comment
twmeyer 0 Posted December 10, 2001 Is this woman trying to be funny? Was everyone in the studio laughing and having a good time? Her pose seems very goofy, like a spoof of Joyce Tenneson's photographic stylings... She's very tan (?). as an side, I don't think women act this way in Afganistan. I guess all it takes is a woman with a cloth on her head (no matter what she's doing, wearing or not wearing) for some people to make that absurd association... t Link to comment
ian_ash 0 Posted December 11, 2001 I find myself struggling to make out the detail, everything seems a little to dark. I think it's an interesting pose, but the left arm looks uncomfortable to me on two counts. Firstly, it just looks like an uncomfortable position, and secondly my eyes don't know whether to follow the arm to the right, or follow the torso down. Link to comment
wildography 0 Posted January 28, 2004 I like the model... and I like the fabric... but this particular shot doesn't work for me... again, as mentioned above, I don't like the covered face. What would look good, I think, is a shot of her with the fabric steaming out behind her as if it is being blown off of her, exposing the beauty of her form. Maybe use a high powered fan.
