Now please dpont consider this a sun set as there is no sun and

actually hasn't been for over an hour. This is a slow shutter shot

in pretty dark surroundings. I took some more with up to 10 seconds

on the shutter but this one is only about 1.3 seconds.

It is heavily manipulated to massively over-saturate in an attempt

to capture a moody, lonely but peacefull place. I didn't want it to

be realistic. I am not sure if it works but I quite like it and

enjoyed attempting to capture it in the difficult conditions.

I actually got questioned by the police while taking this shot due

to my being in the middle of knowehere at night doing what they

thought was a bit strange.

Was it worth it? What do you think?

David, whenever I try something new and as challenging as long exposure photography, it is always worth it. The most important thing here is to examine the photo and ask "is this what I wanted". If it is, then your done. If not then you try a different exposure combination, various compositions, and also different post processing techniques. Then re-ask the same question. And so it goes on.
