bosshogg 4 Posted July 18, 2006 A cemetery abandoned and left to decay on a windswept desert. It does not get more forlorn than that. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted July 19, 2006 Dave, this is powerful. Gone and forgotten is right. I have a friend who says that's how it always is, no matter how well-groomed the cemetery. Still, this shows it in a very dramatic way. A thought-filled shot, as I've come to expect from you. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 20, 2006 As always, it is an honor to receive praise from someone as accomplished in photography and so wise in worldly knowledge. I'm very grateful. Take care. Link to comment

alight 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Dave, this is an interesting photo. It would be nice to have such a perspective that the photo would communicate more of how the surroundings look, as in getting higher up and be looking slightly down. That way the fence and the crosses would still be there, and one could also see the desert behind. Of course, I don't know if it was possible. Anyway, as I mentioned, this photo is very interesting - the crosses behind the old fence. Tonally, it's very nice, as well. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 25, 2007 Thanks. Actually, this was a very frustrating photo. This is located in what is essentially a ghost town, and the whole town had this desolate bleek look. Even more than the usual ghost town. I never really felt like I capture that desolation and abandonment, but I tried everything I could think of. Also the wind was blowing gale force, and that didn't help, but even without that problem, I just could not get the angle or point of view I wanted to pass on the feeling. It is not real close, but I may be going that way in the summer, so I may try to recapture it if it is there still and the same. Link to comment
