Yes indeed ;-) I actually had to think about it. Is it landscape? I thought not because I always think of beauty when I think of landscape. That's why architecture won this round - it is a "building" after all. With a view. But I suppose the questions remains whether anyone uses that room, to enjoy the view? Tks for dropping by. Regards. I'd like to have seen more foreground in front of the shanty, then it would be a landscape. When I view this larger, there looks to be some good close ups of the wooden fence with the roses. If you live nearby you may want to shoot some more photos here.

Thanks, your comments make sense. I literally work across the road from where this image was taken. In a way it is surrealistic. Stellenbosch is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Across the road from this shanty is a multi-million rand (dollar) development, on the other side a newly developed BMW car dealership, and behind that a new shopping mall. If only there was a way to show all of this in one image.

 

I'll go back some time and get a few shots from another angle and POV - to try to capture some of the economical contrast. I will appreciate your feedback then as well. Thanks for stopping by. JH
