irsteve 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this narrow gauge railroad is an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, a designation shared with the Panama Canal, the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. Please view larger Link to comment

wogears 186 Posted July 13, 2006 If the person who rated this 3/3 (before the ink could dry), would care to explain, I will be grateful for their expert adviseI am not that person; I do not rate as a general rule. I would not have given this a 3/3; however, the viewpoint is uninteresting and the light on the mountains is pretty flat. There is little contrast between the mountains and the grainy and rather uninteresting sky. The eye is not drawn into the image, and the track is not emphasized. If you put a photo up for rating on this site, unless it is a very hot nude, you will get some bad ratings. Many people disable ratings for this reason. I have seen photos get (deserved) 7/7s and a few 3/4s to go with them. Link to comment
irsteve 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Your comments are much appreciated although I will say I thought the curve and perspective of the rail/river served quite well to draw in the eye Link to comment
