aepelbacher 0 Posted July 13, 2006 I thought this one was fun - just outside of the London City Hall there was a large map of the world that was roped off and there was a place where you could leave your shoes and walk all over the map (I didn't take that journey ... I just stood outside and snapped lots of shots!) If you're interested, I have a few more cute ones ... but this was definitely my favorite. Her left big toe is directly on top of my hometown. :-) Thoughts? Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted July 13, 2006 i love this!! so cute. perfect to focus interest on the feet. and her big toe rests on your home town! i'd love to see more of these. Link to comment
mlh273 0 Posted July 13, 2006 OH NO!!! I hope he didn't crush the one stoplight or there may be an car accident or two! DISASTER!!!! I really like this picture, the socks are FABULOUS! Is this someone you know? I thought maybe it was a nephew until I saw it was in London. Footy pjs would be fun too, or the rainbow socks that have the individual slots for your toes!!! Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 13, 2006 This is very original, Lou Ann, at least for me. Beautifully done. --Lannie Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Linda - you asked for it, you got it ... several other images from that scene follow. :-) Matt - shut up. ;-) You won't answer my e-mail ... yet you'll abuse my hometown here online. Let's see, Cheektowaga has a population of 95,000 ... Ft. Collins has a population of about 130,000 ... I would say that they're towns of comprable size. Whatever. ;-) Anyway - no, this is not someone I know. I visited London on my own. I only wish my nephews were there with me ... maybe when they're older...... Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted July 13, 2006 It was difficult to isolate one particular person or pair of feet for a good image.... Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted July 14, 2006 Definitely fun & cute. The 1st thought from the thumbnail is: wow, she is on top of the world, walking to wherever whe wants. Brilliant capture. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 14, 2006 Seems intricately done. I'm surprised they allow the public to step on it. The organisers are clever to have intereaction here. Makes it more interestly. Nice one Lou Ann. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted July 14, 2006 Alec - it was part of a presentation of photographs of aerial photography being displayed around the City Hall. The point of the map, besides showing the places where the photos were taken around the world was to get the public involved in the exhibit. It was quite a spectacular undertaking! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 14, 2006 Lou Ann, great serries, and fun for sure, I would say that all of them are well exposed and transfer very well the atmospher and the nice experience of the people "walking on the world". Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted July 17, 2006 That's one way to see the world! What a great experience for these kids...tactile and visual. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 18, 2006 Great idea, Lou Ann! I wondered why I keep seeing huge feet in the sky. I haven't seen this map so it must be fairly recent - looks fun for kids (and educational too!) Nicely composed too with Florida balancing the feet... Link to comment
axel-cordes 0 Posted December 7, 2006 You made me smile - I was just stroling through the street images and came up to yours - have a look to this http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3322513 was made in Vienna. Regards Axel Link to comment
wingell 0 Posted December 6, 2008 This is a delightful image! Looks as if your colorfully-footed subject could make it to New Orleans in one quick step. Or to Buffalo with one sideways hop. That white-socked foot in the Gulf must have sent New Orleans folks running for high ground. Talk about having a world-view! Nicely seen. All the best...Bill 6/6 Link to comment
