Guest Guest Posted July 15, 2006 Oh, it's very cool, that reflection! Not to mention the glimpse of the yellow one thru the doorway...The fellow, though - I'm not sure I like him smack in the middle like that. Did you take more as he cycled along? Probably not - after all, we're not shooting digital like machine guns, are we? Have you used "burst mode" ever? I'm tempted, just for fun, maybe one roll ... Another great thing about this shot is the sidewalk and the cement lines near the top. Nice job! Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 16, 2006 Real good, Don, an interesting melange of flavors. Good enough to turm into an oil painting if you had the skill and the cajones. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted July 16, 2006 Lee, reflection? Do you mean the shadow? Anyway, thanks! Yes, the glimpse through the doorway is due to composing with my feet. I'm actually standing in the street (what's in the foreground isn't sidewalk, but median divider). I, too, wish I'd several to choose from, and I was using a camera with a motor drive, even. I seem not to think of shooting multiple frames, generally; I need a sofware update so I remember to take advantage of the features of the N90s my other cameras lack. I've only used continuous advance for the obvious subjects, e.g.: discus throwers, helicopters, puppies.Jack, thanks so much! I love a good metaphor-cum-analogy, and photo to recipe is a good one. I'm quite tickled to've pleased your educated palate. As to your aspersions: I am secure enough to admit that my drawing ability extends to baths, but fails with straights and paper. Canvas? It's for sails, except in talented hands. Link to comment
