oswegophoto 1 Posted July 13, 2006 Not architecture in the usual sense, sure, but the massive shell, open to the sky and at the corners, looked so much like the start of a house of cards a block on each side, and so little like a building. A few more days, and they spoiled the effect by putting a roof on. Link to comment
r 0 Posted July 13, 2006 nice T :), and i like the strongly vertical edge of the black triangle, it makes the right side of the photo very bold and graphically loud, and because it's also tonally the inverse of the left side the photo as a whole becomes an interesting visual experience, solidly constructured (:))nice title) I do find myself wondering what you might have found if you'd tried removing context completely i.e. ambiguous-sky and nonspecific-upness Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted July 13, 2006 Thanks for your comment; I really struggled with wanting to rotate it CW thusly, but left it realistic, as I was inspired by New House In the Village by Laurent Lacoste, which, alas, is no longer in his portfolio (a foible of his). Sigh. Link to comment

oswegophoto 1 Posted July 13, 2006 Ooh ... Sierpinski. Interesting stuff that name led to; thanks! I see your point. I do suspect if I'd known in advance that M. Lacoste had deleted his pic — again! Jack McRitchie (who has made his own wholesale deletions) said Laurent was like some Bedouin photographer, and then used less, um, metaphorical language later ... it's the most ephemeral portfolio I visit — I might've rotated it to begin with. A propensity, I might add, I got from you, you southern hemisphere tilter-at-windmills-and-anything-else, you. I'm glad I don't have to choose; I like 'em both. Link to comment
