I know, I know, should have used a polarizer. Tucked away for

future attempts. Now, what other observations do I need to hear?

Your comments\impressions will be gratefully received. Many thanks,

LM.

i like it, but I find the bottom half the most interesting part of the photo... could almost do without the rest... wonder if there is some cropping experimentation that might help... and yet, a little less light bounce woudl be good... lost too much dteail. but I like the subject matter and feel there is something there with a little work.

Jody, Thanks for your views & I must say I tend to agree with you. The fungus was really what attracted me & I should have concentrated more on that element. This was the only exposure I made on this subject. I should change my internet tag to 'One Shot' as I tend to be cheap with the film when it comes to working a subject with multiple angles and compositions. Something I have to work on. Best, LM.

Hi Len, long time no visit. I think the composition in this is very good -- I like the oblique formed by the leaf at right and the balance provided by the one at left. The color and texture are also attractive. May I suggest doing two different scans, one optimized for the bright top half of the picture, one for the bottom half, and then merging them in PS? I'm doing a lot of this myself lately. Just as we can combine different raw conversions of the same digi image, we can combine different scans of the same film image.

Chris, Thanks for stopping by & taking the time to critique. Your suggestions are now filed away for a time when my PS skills catch up. I'm just now struggling with the learning curve on my new (to me) Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II. I still maintain that the necessity for lot of post exposure work could have been avoided by taking the shot properly (with polarizing filter) in the first place:-) Live & learn! Best, LM.

Very good, absolutely beatiful. the small droplets on the leaf are good but the hole on that same leaf spoils it a little. Overall it is great.

Thanks for the visit & comments. This is a 'found' scene; nothing added or taken away. Would it have been acceptable to have replaced the original leaf with a perfect one or to have cloned out the hole in the leaf? The hole is admittedly a point of tension but what to do about it? To be artistic or purist, that is the dilemma. Best, LM.
