The famous " the lone cypress" of Monterey may have been really lonely

for most of its 200+ years, but it has become one of the most

photographed trees in the world last several decades. Here is my

humble interpretation of this famous scene.

Enjoy,

Mehmet - congratulations on winning the 1st prize in the nature genre of the Polupar Photography magazine. I thought the photo looked familiar. I had to dig the magazine up to make sure it was the same photo and photographer :-).

I hope the 1st prize was worth enough money to get you a nice CANON 5D ;-).

Thanks Ralf:

I can only wish that "fabolous prizes" -as they were declared- included more than point&shoot cameras that worth barely cost more than $200.

maybe next year the winner will get something better.

I like this photo quite a lot. But I think that it is been a bit too much saturated. I may be wrong!

Congrats on the shot. Although what people are failing to admit to themselves here is that there is no way that shot came out of the camera like that. the changes made to the picture post process are obviously countless. Levels, Curves, contrast, saturation the list goes on...

Beautiful and striking indeed...but there is something not right here, how do you get a strong enough light from behind the photographers left shoulder that results in shadows, and light from behind the clouds, whats up with that ???. This can not be real!

Beautiful! Almost post-apocalyptic feel to it... sort of like a timeline with growth on the right and decay to the left. 1st prize indeed!

This is unbelievably beautiful! Did you use some sort of filter to achieve this effect? This is one of those shots that inspires me to want to see the "real thing" and I always consider those kinds of photos to be among the best! Excellent work! cindy
