I am always taken by how such beautiful creatures can be captured so amazingly in such dark conditions. Like, what did you do? How did you get the background so black and the bird so well-lit? Don't tell me its the flash cause it would reflect on the water, wouldn't it? :)

VIP : this shot has been taken while the bird was swimming along a dark green grass border, I just reduced light first and increased contrast, which turned the background into black quickly - nothing else !...see original file attached
